10 Things//

Hello fellow readers, I normally do this thing on Thursdays, but life has been so busy for me. I just recently started school, and I've been going back and forth all over the place. Good news is, I just got a job at Starbucks as a barista, but that means my schedule is jam packed right now. I'm also currently trying to think of some other weekly features for my blog so hang in there! This past week I've scored some cute vintage finds, and hopefully will be posting those up as well. Along with my thrift store finds, I've created some cute notebooks for my back to school accessories  and I'm also hoping to post a DIY for you guys! Anyways, this week for my 10 Things I Love, I thought I'd share with you some of my all time favorite things that I could never get sick of! Take a look! :)

1. Elephants. I use to have a thing for penguins, but as I grew older my love for elephants evolved, and I just find them to be the most beautiful, exotic, fascinating creatures ever. I absolutely love the first photograph, and I'm fifty percent sure it's Photoshopped, because I've seen this picture with a puppy in place of the baby elephant. Regardless though, I find it absolutely adorable, because I mean who doesn't think a baby elephant isn't cute? I even have a giant collection of elephants (anywhere from statues to stuffed animals to pictures). All time favorite animal right here forever and for always. <3

2. Green tea. I will never get sick of green tea. Not only is it probably one of the healthiest teas for antioxidants and other nutrients, it is the best tea for calming of the nerves. I prefer Tazo's Zen for green tea. It has a minty flavor to it, but it honestly has the most calming effects for me. The irony of it though is the caffeine in it. Hmmmmmm......

3. This guy right here. My awfully rude neighbors declawed this kitty and then kicked him out, oh and never left food out for him. One day it started snowing and he was poking his head into my living room window. Of course I started crying because my heart ached for him. I took him in and it's been true love ever since! Eventually my neighbors moved away and didn't think twice about him. I'll absolutely adore him forever and ever. <3

4. The Beatles. They have gotten me through a lot. I can't begin to tell you how much I love them. I grew up with them, and I will grow old with them.

5. Vintage cameras. My mother collects antiques, and my fascination with her collection of old time cameras grew into something much more. Although this picture isn't a collection of my own, I do own quite a few vintage cameras. There's just something about how intricate and detailed these cameras were back then that I love so much.

6. Breakfast for dinner. Give me this and you'll win my heart.

7. Working in the darkroom. My love for the darkroom will never die. There's nothing like the smell of darkroom chemicals after a hard days work.

 8. Sunflowers. Favorite flower since I was a little girl.

9. Arick Stephenson. He's my best friend. We'll be together no matter what. I trust him with all my well being. He was there to pick me up when I was down, and he just understands me. There isn't one thing I do that he despises. He loves me for who I am, even on my bad days, and I love him for who he is even on his bad days. I can't imagine my life without him, I can't even imagine how we weren't together a long time ago. It's been a wonderful year and a half . I'll love him forever and always.

 10. Last but not least, my mother. She was a stay at home mom throughout my whole childhood. I love my entire family, but my mother has been there since the beginning of my life. She has pushed me creatively, and artistically to be the best that I can be. We've had our falling outs, but she is always there for me, and will always love me. I love my mother with all my heart, and hope one day she finds happiness too.

Thanks for stopping by. Check back later to see some new stuff I will be posting up shortly here after.

10 Things//

Hey everyone! This week has been crazy, but I have been trying to fix my blog and make it look pretty. I'm still new to all of this so I hope my readers bare with me! But anyways, I'm still planning on doing this 10 Things I Love section every Thursday. Here's what's in store for this week that I'm currently loving!

1. Pugly Pixel. This is such a great website that I found last night. I absolutely love it, and Katrina (she runs it) is so helpful with the tutorials she posts about Photoshop. She even gives free downloads and more premium downloads for just $5 a month! It's so worth it, and she has the cutest ideas. Her links have definitely helped me work my magic in Photoshop. Thanks Katrina! :)

 2. This adorable retro trailer. I wouldn't mind traveling all over in this. It's perfect with the flowers and the colors. It really looks like it could be a lovely home. This is going on my dream list. <3

3. This saying right here. No matter how many people try to tell me otherwise, I'm still going to stand my ground and live by my own morals.

4. These mini milkshakes made by Rhiannon who used a twisted version of toasted marshmallow milkshakes! These look so adorable, and perfect for parties or big events! Not to mention, they're covered with sprinkles and chocolate! What more could a sweet tooth ask for? I plan on making these at my next get together. Just add a peppermint straw for extra sweetness!

5. This amazing Camera Beanbag Chair! I'm in love, and this is going on my Christmas list
     (*hint hint*).

 6. Humorous retro comics like these!

7. Shades of lipstick like these. I can't wait for fall color palettes!

8. This Marigold-en Girl Dress from Modcloth! It's so cute!

9. I'm really not suppose to drink pop, but lately I've been craving diet pepsi, and it only has zero calories! Plus I love this ad.

10. Autumn. I can't wait for the fall to start up! It's by far my favorite season, and I love wearing leggings and boots, drinking pumpkin spice lattes, and walking on crunchy leaves while I feel the brisk air on my face!

What are your favorite things this week?

back to school// inspiration

It's that time of year again, when college is starting back up, and we're all feeling a little lazy about getting back into the swing of things. So in order for you to get excited about going back this semester and sitting through those boring lectures, I figured I'd help out by putting a little color back into your day. Here's a few things that should help perk up your day with these cute back to school ideas.

Instead of buying boring notebooks, or spending 3 dollars on one that has a picture, make your own! This cute DIY from A Beautiful Mess  is the perfect way to add a unique touch to your school supplies. I've made these with composition notebooks and scrapbook paper before, but I would like to try it with fabric like Elsie did. Then add some cute patches, buttons, or pictures to it and VOILA!

Everyone gets sick of cafeteria food, and most college kids can't afford lunch every day because we have tuition and books to pay for, so bring your own lunch in these cute oilcloth lunch sacks. There's a great DIY for it here.

I absolutely love love love these chalkboard bubbles. They're cute and perfect for decorating, writing memos, or just plain fun. I found that you can buy them at many places like at photojojo or you can make them! Yes, make them! I found a DIY by Kami Bigler and for an affordable price too. I just think these are so neat!

I haven't had the honor to use these on a roomate, but hey I figure what the hell! Next year when I move into a dorm, when I can actually afford it, I'll be sure to buy some of these if I ever feel the need to get my point across. And you can too! I found these at fredflare!

Ummmm how awesome is this?! Need a new tote bag to haul all your books around with? Go to dad. Yup, with an old breif case, you can create one just like this.... I know I'm planning on it. Zac Posen is so creative, and he gives you the DIY here! Magical. I'm in love.

If you have any other cute or creative ideas, or found something you'd love to share that you think is a great back to school idea, then please share! I'd love to get some more insight! I start classes in five days, and I don't know where the summer went. I guess they mean it when they say "all good things must come to an end." Well, that's it for now, thanks for stopping by!

summer adventures

Here's a peak at what I've been doing over the summer and what not. This summer has been lovely, and this week is the fair, so I can't wait to take pictures in the fun house with my lovely boy! <3

Me and Arick took a little day adventure to Matthiessen State Park. It was gorgeous there. We hiked, and went swimming after my lost sandals, and I fell down a waterfall. We carved our names in a rock, and took beautiful photographs. It was a great day!

Lately I've been playing with light and long exposures. Me, Arick, my other friend Eric and David all helped out with these photos. Bless their hearts. We really did have a great time doing it though! Some of these photos required going into an abandoned mill we found in a town nearby and throwing sparklers out of it. I absolutely love the effect it gave!

Arick helped out with a project I started called Swamp Monster down by my lake. I wanted to make seaweed so he wouldn't have to be covered in real algae, but he insisted. He truly is the best boy ever <3

I start classes in about two weeks now, and I'm hoping to make the best of the rest of my summer. Be on the lookout for more photos of my summer adventures, and possibly more light show pictures, because I have a lot more sparklers to be used!
